Having hosted the 2002 Winter Games, SLC is now a well-known ski destination. Salt Lake City is said to have some of the best and driest powder in the world because it is so far inland. There is also great snowmobiling, cross country skiing, backcountry cat and heli-skiing and ice staking at the Olympic Oval. In the summer there is biking, golfing, canoeing, and some of the most splendid hiking in the canyons of Utah.
