RVing Nevada National Parks

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

Whether you live in the area, in the USA, or are visiting from another country you will be inspired by the National Parks of Nevada. Rent an RV from USA RV Rentals and start planning your next adventure to the Nevada National Parks.

Great Basin National Park

Great Basin National Park is located in eastern Nevada along the Utah border. For many when we think of Nevada we think of open deserts, the scorching heat, and the neon lights of Las Vegas. Little did we know that 250 miles north of Las Vegas lies permanent snowfields and even a glacier on Wheeler Peak. Make sure you visit Lehman Caves, a unique cavern system with many beautiful limestone formations.

Gold Butte National Monument

Located about 100 miles east of Las Vegas is Gold Butte National Monument. This little park is only about 300,000 acres but contains so many fascinating places. While most of the rocks are grey limestone and granite there are many outcroppings of red, yellow, and orange Aztec sandstone that have been exposed over the years. Look closely and you will find one of many petroglyphs that were carved into the sandstone thousands of years ago. Take a walk through the abandoned mines and ghost towns of Gold Butte, which was home to many gold and silver mines of the early 20th century. Just another great thing to do in Nevada National Parks.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Lake Mead National Recreation Area began with the completion of the Hoover Dam. The huge artificial lake is responsible for much of the tourism in the area. People come for camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and some camping. Because of the warm temperatures, these activities are year-round.

There are some smaller camper vans available in Las Vegas that do not have showers, so be sure to check the specs of the RV you are considering to make sure it has the amenities that you want.  Check out our quote program to look at Class B RV rentals from Las Vegas.
