Boston is well-known for its fantastic food, nice people, and beautiful fall foliage in the country’s oldest public park. Here are the top things to do in Boston!
The New England Aquarium is a great place to spend a few hours while you are visiting Boston. The Seadragon exhibit features both species of Seadragons, the Leafy Seadragon, and the Weedy Seadragon. These unique creatures use their amazing camouflage skills to hide among the seaweeds. Watch the seals and sea lions as they play the day away or visit the Amazon Rain Forest where Piranhas, Anacondas, Electric Eels, and Stingrays are waiting for you.
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is one of the largest art collections in the United States featuring over 450,000 pieces of art. This museum is open 7 days a week, has self-guided tours in 8 different languages, and 2 gift shops if you need to buy a gift for someone at home or a gift for yourself. The Samurai collection is on display now as well as pieces from the Michelangelo master collection. There are always new collections to see at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston so you will want to come back again and again, as it is a new museum every time.
Visit The Museum of Science in Boston for a look into history and the future. See the Colossal Fossil: Triceratops, a 65 million-year-old fossil or see the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls. Learn about our world in the 5 story tall IMAX theatre, journey to Tornado Alley, the African Serengeti, or the Cities Beneath the Sea. The kids will be sure to enjoy Big Birds Adventure: One World, One Sky, where friends from Sesame Street teach kids about the stars.
Faneuil Hall has been a market place and a meeting hall since 1742. The original Grasshopper weather vane still sits atop this historic building. Tours of this hall run daily, led by a National Park Service Ranger. The market place is still alive with excitement, there is a store selling most everything, from clothing, eyewear, jewelry, to luggage, bath supplies, house wear. There is something for everyone. My favorite part of these markets are the street performers, there are lots of bands, jugglers, magicians, and there are some things that words cannot describe.
The USS Constitution is the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat. This vessel was built in the Boston Naval Yard and was completed in 1797, her claim to fame came in the War of 1812 when she defeated 5 British Warships and captured numerous other merchant ships. Today she can be viewed in Boston. Tours are available guided by active-duty Navy Sailors who will take you through the ship’s spar deck (top deck), gun deck, and the berth deck. Remember that anyone who wants to board the USS Constitution must have a valid picture ID and must undergo a visual inspection of all bags.
The Freedom Trail in a 2.5-mile brick path that goes through Boston that leads to 16 significant historic sites starting at the Boston Common to the USS Constitution with stops at important graveyards, churches, and other meaningful stops. See the Paul Revere House, the Old South Meeting House, and the Old State House.
Walk the Freedom Trail
Set aside half a day to walk this 2.5-mile trail which is arguably the best way to soak up the history of Boston and check-out great restaurants. Shopping is also available along the trail.
Enjoy Italian Food
Tune in to your foodie side and enjoy some pizza, espresso, cannoli, and other classic Italian cuisines. The North End is the best place to experience fresh, delicious food. Book a reservation if you want dinner there on a weekend evening!

Interesting things to know about Chicago

RVing in Chicago
There are 2 RV rental locations in Chicago. Both locations are located on the north side of Chicago. Chicago’s local transit is the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). Two lines run 24 hrs a day. The Blue Line connects Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and downtown and the Red Line Connects the north and south side via downtown. Since you will be traveling in an RV rental get to know the local transit as taking your RV to local attractions can be inconvenient as you try to find parking. Chicago Cultural Center:
Opened in 1897 and noted as a Chicago landmark, it is the city’s official reception venue. Take the free afternoon tour and admire the stunning 38-foot-diameter mosaic glass dome.
Wrigley Building:
Comprised of two iconic buildings, both glazed in terra-cotta, they gleam in the city lights all hours of the day. Walking through the center doors brings you to a secluded park area along the Chicago River also leading to the entrance of the Chicago Riverwalk.
Chicago Architecture Center
Teach your about kid your love of architecture at this museum geared towards the whole family. The Skyscraper Gallery has replicas of the tallest building in the world including Chicago’s every own Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower). Relive the Great Chicago Fire as dynamic video, interactive touch screens, and light projections bring the devastation to life. And watch as the city rebuilds itself. Chicago Bears:

North Avenue Beach:

Oak Street Beach:

Navy Pier
This is the place that even the locals hang out. Visit the 3300-foot pier that runs along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. View the breathtaking fireworks set to music every Wednesday and Saturday nights during the summer, either from the pier or on an evening cruise, the view will be stunning. Visit Pier Park and ride the 150 foot Ferris wheel or the musical carousel. How about A”mazing” Chicago where you will get lost in the Mirror Maze then stagger through the Spinning Tunnel. Shedd Aquarium
At Shedd Aquarium be prepared to take a trip of the imagination to an underwater world like no other. Touch the Stingrays, go eye to eye with the dolphins, and take a walk to the south Pole with the Penguins.
Blue Man Group
Chicago is the home of the Blue Man Group. Running since the late 1980’s the Blue Man Group can still be seen at the Briar Street Theatre. Their unique blend of music, technology, and comedy appeals to people of all ages.
Alder Planetarium
Alder Planetarium was the first planetarium built in the Western Hemisphere in 1930 and is now the oldest planetarium in existence. Learn about the Curiosity Rover by viewing NASA’s full-size replica, our solar system, and the mysteries of space.
Khol Children’s Museum
What a great place to bring little ones (best for children under 8). It’s a Willy Wonka-land of toys and games and interesting things your little ones. With 17 permanent exhibits and 3 changing exhibits, there is always something new to explore. A few of the permanent exhibits are the grocery mart area, water station, train station, musical instruments, arts, potbelly sandwich shop, pet vet, and nursery. If the kids get hungry there is also a small cafeteria.

Millennium Park
Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve
Located 25 miles outside of the city this 10 mile crushed limestone loop takes you past the waterfalls, to the scenic view overlooking the river and through the marshes. This is a great place to hike, bike, or walk the dogs.
Kayak the Chicago River
View Chicago in a whole new way by paddling down the Chicago River. You can spend the afternoon paddling past the heart of downtown Chicago, past hotels and restaurants, or spend the day at North Avenue Beach and have lunch at one of the local restaurants.

Denver – Local Attractions
The Denver Zoo is open every day of the year and is home to nearly 4,000 animals representing 700 species including the incredibly rare okapi, the red-bellied lemur, the Amur leopard, the black rhino and the Siberian tiger. The Denver Zoo, which is located just 5 minutes from downtown Denver covers over 80 acres and is located in Denver’s historic City Park. Come visit Mshindi, the resident Rhinoceros and artist. Mshindi paints with a paintbrush, his work can be viewed in the Pachyderm House.
Visit the Denver Art Museum on the first Saturday of every month to receive free admission. The museum is located at 100 West 14th Ave Pkwy, Denver, CO 80204. Stop by the Museum Shop and pick up a gift for someone back home or shop for yourself.
See the Downtown Aquarium, an UnderWater Adventure, while in Denver. The mythical mermaids will entertain you with their choreographed numbers put to music while you learn the importance of taking care of the environment. All of the exhibits look interesting, go see Under the Sea, At the Wharf, The Rain Forest, or Sunken Temple. You can even watch Heran the Tiger complete a training session. Make this one a meal stop as you can dine in front of a 50,000-gallon floor to ceiling aquarium.
When you are looking for a slower-paced day remember the Denver Botanic Gardens. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the themed gardens or go on a wildflower hike, or even visit a historical farm. Denver Botanic Gardens has guided and self-guided tours depending on your preference. The Mordecai Children’s Garden allows you and your child to explore how plants and animals live together on Marmot Mountain or race pine cones down Springmelt Stream. They could even hunt for bugs in the Glorious Grasslands or watch the aquatic life at Pipsqueak Pond.
Elitch Gardens has something for everyone. Family shows such as Cirque Conjure combine illusion, music, dance, and comedy in their uniquely created shows. Take a trip through time in Doc Hall’s Old Time Photo, or stop by EG Ink and get yourself some body art. Miss Mary’s Confectionary, features hundreds of different kinds of candies, cookies, and caramel apples. Oh, did I mention that there is also a theme park and waterpark at Elitch Gardens? Do you like rides that make your heart pound? Try the scary Boomerang Steele Coaster or the spinning Half Pike. Like it a little slower? You can ride the carousel or fly on dragon wings. Even slower? Watch while the kids race in a hot air balloon or captain their own boat at Ding Dong Dock. Now it’s time to cool off and enjoy the water. Slide down the 64’ Acapulco Cliff Dive or ride a raft down Castaway Creek. Elitch Gardens is a great way to spend the day.
