Our Top 5 Must See Beaches

Friday, July 15th, 2016

There’s just something about warm weather and beaches that go together. Is it the sand, the surf, the relaxation? Or a little bit of all three. As we travel around during summer vacations to soak up the sun, where are some of the best places to go? Take a look at our top 5 must-see beaches across the USA:

Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts

Martha's Vineyard Beach
With a variety of beaches to choose from at Martha’s Vineyard, it’s difficult to choose just one as they each offer sights not to be missed. Our favorite choice is to spend some time and visit them all.

Clearwater Beach, Florida

Spread along a narrow 3 mile stretch of the Pinellas Peninsula on the Golf Coast, Clearwater straddles Tampa Bay to the east and the Gulf of Mexico to the west. Visitors can relax on the beach and swim or spend the day playing beach volleyball, taking a dolphin-watching cruise, rent a fishing boat, or go parasailing.

Manele Bay, Hawaii

Manele Bay Beach Lookout

One of the world’s most perfect stretches of sand, Hulopo’e Beach can be found at the base of Manele Bay, a designated marine preserve. The Bay is filled with colorful fish making snorkeling and diving a must. Plus swimming in 70-degree water doesn’t hurt either.

RV in San Francisco

Thursday, May 5th, 2016

If you decide to pick-up your RV in San Francisco, make sure to see the city if only for a short time and it will leave you wanting more! Shaky Town is one of the friendliest and artsiest cities in the US. Here are five things to do:

Golden Gate Bridge

San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge at sunset

This famous bridge is possibly the most well-known thing about San Francisco, and it merits a visit for sure. Put on sunscreen for a walk across the famous bridge or else you will end up with an asymmetrical burn, still worth it though!

Fisherman’s Wharf / Pier 39

Here is a little bit of everything San Francisco has to offer. Shopping, great sweet and savory food, street performers, museums, art galleries, and a chance to see the sea lions that hang out on the rocky shore.

Alcatraz Island

Alcatraz Island

The famous former prison is definitely worth a visit. Transportation to the island is by ferry, and once arrived you receive a headset and a tap to listen to the tour at your leisure. The story about the prison escape is the most interesting. Outside you can walk around the island and enjoy the grounds. A truly unique and eerie National Historic Landmark.

Lands’ End

San Francisco Land's End

This little slice of heaven feels completely isolated from the city and you have a less touristy, more authentic experience. There are hiking trails nestled against a rugged coastline with hidden gems such as Sutro bath and a cave. Located on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge, it provides awesome views of the city and the bridge, especially from the Cliff House Bar. It gets chilly by the water so dress in layers!

Golden Gate Park

San Francisco Golden Gate Park

The Golden Gate Park has plenty of attractions to offer but if you are short on time I would recommend the trio of the Japanese Tea Garden, California Academy of Sciences, and the De Young (fine arts) museum, all located in the Music Concourse Area. These are connected by an open-air plaza that is often filled with street performers and artists.

San Francisco Cable Car

While in San Francisco immerse yourself by traveling short distances by Cable Car and striking up a conversation with a friendly local!

The Full Throttle Coaster holds the world record for the world’s tallest and fasted looping roller coaster. Loop around 160 ft in the air and go from 0 to 70 miles an hour. I’m getting dizzy just thinking about it.

The Hollywood Bowl is the world’s largest natural amphitheater, being carved into the Hollywood hillside. The Rolling Stones magazine rated it one of the 10 best live music venues in the US. Take in a concert from the Los Angeles Philharmonics or one of the other hundred concerts that take place here each year.

Spend a couple of hours and visit La Brae Tar Pits. The tar pits are protected and displayed by the George C. Page Museum. Starting in 1913 these pits have been excavated by archaeologists and some extraordinary bones have been removed.
