RV Rentals for Going to the Burner Festival 2015

Friday, October 3rd, 2014

For the 2015 Burner Festival, we recommend booking your RV Rental now. Tickets go on sale in January, but people who have been to the Festival already know the scarcity of RV Rentals for that period and have started to reserve their Burner Friendly RV rental. With some of the companies we represent, prices can even be lower the earlier you book as they price according to demand.

Use the inquiry form above to select your dates, pick up location, and after you have sent in your request, one of our helpful staff will get back with you to reserve your RV Rental for going to the Burner Festival 2015.

Please note, we are an RV Rental company that is in no way affiliated with the festival – we just know how popular it is, and we want to help you book your Burner Friendly RV rental. Enjoy the desert!

Kids at the Burner Festival

Wednesday, August 21st, 2013

The folks responsible for planning the Burner Festival have put in a lot of effort to make sure you are prepared to bring your children. They have written up a Family Survival guide so that you have considered everything before you decide to bring your child.

Your children are welcome at the event, they are the future of this event. The event planners feel that in order for you to properly take care of your children you should have attended the event with only adults first. This way you will know what to expect and what changes you will need to make and extra things you will need to bring when you visit the Playa again with your children.

Dehydration is the biggest problem with kids on the Playa. Make sure that your kids get lots to drink. They also need to have their electrolytes replaces, so in addition to plain water offer your children coconut water or diluted sports drinks. The first sign that your child may be dehydrated may be a cranky child, as dehydration gets more serious your child will get lethargic and listless, seek help.

Wide brim hats, long sleeve light clothing, goggles and some sort of face masks (bandanas work well) to keep your kids covered during a dust storm are a must. You will need to carry these things with you at all times as you never know where you will be when a storm hits. The best place to be is inside if you can. If you have rented an RV go inside (an RV is also helpful to cool kids off if they get too hot). If you do not have an RV, inside your car is the next best place.

Of course, you will want to take every precaution to make sure your kids do not get separated from you, but you will want to be prepared if they do. You can buy ID tags and put your camp address on them and attach them to your kids. For older kids teach your kid their camp address and markers around your camp. Lost children are taken very seriously so alert the Black Rock City Rangers as soon as possible. Make friends with your neighbors, remember the festival is a community, an extra set of eyes on your kids always helpful.

Most things go for everyone attending, they just go double for kids. Remember you are there to have fun. Kids are pretty adaptable, if you are relaxed they will feel that and relax too.

Now that you are ready to take your kids, let us help you book your Burner Friendly RV rental.

Planning your 2014 Burner Friendly RV rental

Thursday, August 15th, 2013

If you have not planned your trip to the Burner Festival 2013, you are too late. That being said you are just in time to start planning your 2014 adventure.

Tickets should go on sale in January of 2014. For the 2013 event festival-goers were required to pre-register in order to buy tickets when they go on sale. You will want to keep an eye on www.Burningman.org for when they will allow you to pre-register and any changes the event planners may make to buying tickets for the 2014 Festival.

To tent or not to tent, that is the question. While sleeping in a tent will be your most affordable option, it will not be the most comfortable one. Winds in the Black Rock Desert can reach up to 75 miles per hour, day time temperatures can reach 100 degrees F and nighttime temperatures can drop into the ’40s. I would rather be camping in an RV. A Burner Friendly RV rental will provide air conditioning during the day, heat at night, and something to be between you and the wind. You will also have your kitchen and bathroom with you making the whole experience just a little more enjoyable.

If you are going with the comfort and extra cost of an RV you will really need to consider who you are taking with you. You will be sleeping in close quarters, so preferably no snorers. Then consider how you are going to divide up the cost of your RV if you are going to be renting one. You will be required to put some money down in order to secure your RV rental. The rest of your rental payment will be due 45-60 days before your pick up date. I have rented RVs to 100’s of people over the years and what I have always told my clients is get people’s money upfront. If you are taking on the responsibility to pay for the RV on your credit card have your friends start making payments to you long before the RV payment is due. That way when it is time to pay the balance of the RV rental you already have everyone’s money and you do not have to chase people for their payment.

The closest place to pick up a rental RV is in Reno Nevada and then San Francisco. I have never actually talked to anyone who actually got an RV from Reno as they book out so far in advance. If you are looking for a better deal for your RV rental, think outside the box. Las Vegas and Los Angeles are going to be a little further away but the price and the availability should be better. How about Salt Lake City? It isn’t as far as you would think and you will probably be avoiding the extra fees that some companies will be adding if you pick up from some of the regular spots.

The website has a list of what you will need to bring, it is worth checking out. Make sure you bring 1.5 gallons of water per person per day for drinking, washing, and cooking. The water that is in the holding tank of the RV should not be used for drinking or cooking but is safe for washing. Bring in all food and drink that you will need for your stay, warm clothing, and first aid kit. Extra sheets are good for have, you can make a sunblock with them and use them to keep the dust off of the furniture and off the dashboard of the RV. There is nothing for sale at the Burner Festival, except coffee and ice. Make sure you bring everything that you need. There is a daily shuttle that will take you to a tiny store, but the stuff available for sale there is limited.
